We had an absolutely amazing time at the Museum of Illusions in Manchester!
My daughters and I visited a few days before Ivy’s birthday, and it turned out to be the perfect place to celebrate.
The staff surprised her with a special gesture and a birthday card signed by all the staff, making her day truly unforgettable. We’re so grateful for their kindness and hospitality. Highly recommend this place for a fun and memorable experience!

Took my two children this afternoon. Had an absolutely amazing experience. My kids fully enjoyed themselves and were engaged in all aspects of the museum. Fully worth the money. Excellent staff and loads of brilliant photo opportunities ...

Me and my daughter went at peak time on a Saturday, i wouldn't say it was overcrowded at all. There were 2 or 3 illusion rooms you had to queue at, but it was only for a matter of minutes. It moves relatively quick. The staff are on hand to take pictures from your phone so you and the whole family can get some great pictures. Staff are walking around wiping things down regularly to make sure it's nice and clean. My daughter is 7 and she absolutely loved the whole thing. We spent 1 hour 45 minutes in there, just having a good time. There were other kids there at different ages and I could see that they were enjoying it too. There's an educational description on each illusion piece or room to explain how it works which is amazing. They also have a little puzzle and games area to test the kids minds and if they enjoy it, there's a shop that sell some of the games too and I would say it's a reasonable price for the products in there.

Fantastic place to spend a day with kids and family. Best find in Manchester. It’s in town and easy to locate. Easy to access via public transport

An enjoyable experience. It's more fun if you visit in a group with family and/or friends. You're limited only by your imagination. The staff are super friendly, happy to take pictures and give ideas. The vortex tunnel is mind boggling. Buy tickets online, there are discounts for students and blue light card holders. Have fun!

We went here on a busy Saturday afternoon,our entry time was 4pm. Lots of people in here with no real control over how many could go in at any one time,this caused many of the bigger illusions to have queues..lots of helpful staff who were at the bigger illusions to take your photos using your own phone which was a really nice touch..much bigger than I thought too.. revolving tunnel is a classic and still makes me wobble great fun..38.50 for myself and my 12 year old daughter,she loved it too

The museum of illusion was great fun. Some cool photos and confusing illusions. Spent about an hour there and Amaron was a great illusion expert and so kind helping us take the photos for the best effect. Great fun. 8/10

We visited this museum on a whim after finding a video of the place on TikTok and our expectations were exceeded! The place was well laid out and the staff were very welcoming and helpful asking if we wanted a picture taken together whilst trying out the illusions. The place was clean and everything was working as it should be. We would like to mention that Jess went the extra mile with us and helped us solve a couple of puzzles here and there. Fun day out and will definitely be worth it if you’re passing by!

Other than the busyness (which can't be helped and was handled very well), this place was so fun. Customer service was really good and the staff are lovely. They volunteer to take your photos, and they show you how to get the best shot. You don't need to ask. They are just there to help. Even with a load of people, they kept on top of it with the hygiene and mirror cleaning to make sure everyone had the best experience viewing the different illusions. They weren't short of staff, and I am impressed, I 100% recommend the museum. It is good fun and educational too. Any questions are answered in the descriptions next to some illusions. In advance, make sure to leave time to park, and the toilets are as you head into the actual viewing bit of the museum. They have a shop too and it is very interactive which you can't go wrong with! £21 for museum seems expensive, but I would say it was worth it. Order tickets online and in person too ☺️ Here are a few photos, but I don't want to spoil the fun. It's definitely great for family, friends, couples, everyone, and people who like to post on social media!

My boyfriend and I travelled down from Newcastle and came across this venue and we had an absolutely amazing time here; so many different things to look at and was incredibly interactive. The best part was everything was laid out so user friendly and had detailed instructions on how to interact with everything and had stickers on the floor showing where to stand to get the best photos. It also had many interesting facts about the illusions and how they were created making it highly educational whilst being extremely entertaining. 10/10 would recommend and would visit again in the future.

A fun way to spend an hour or so.... lots to entertain us all and very helpful friendly staff. Lockers are free and staff will take photos for you.

Went mid week and had such good fun. There were 4 of us, ages ranging between 14 and 45, and we all loved it. Plenty of time for photos when wanted and the staff were available to help when needed. We spent around and hour and a half going round and attempting the puzzles.

Great place! Smaller than I expected but we spent a good hour or so here. Loads of hands on & staff mor than happy to help with taking photos for you (with you phone - not another add-on expense like some places)! They must have the happiest most engaged staff taking time to chat to you. Best customer service I've experienced in a long time. Shout out to Gabriel!

I had a fantastic experience with Manchester Illustration Medium! Eloise , Amaron and Charles were incredibly helpful and clearly passionate about what they do. Their enthusiasm made the process enjoyable, and their expertise really shone through. I would definitely recommend their services to anyone looking for high-quality work and a friendly team.

This is such a good place to visit. We had so much fun. Mae was lovely but tbh so were all the staff.

We had a trip over from Halifax to try something a bit different. We had an absolute blast, the staff were really friendly and knowledgeable about the attractions (big shout out to Max who was great). Kept us entertained for a couple of hours lol

Wow what an awesome place. Some of these illusions are just mind blowing. Lots of crazy stuff to see here, we spent around a 1 - 1.5 hours here. Really enjoyed our visit here even my 1 year had fun on some these illusions. Staff here once again very friendly, everyone was kind and bubbly made the experience even better. Do book online as its cheaper I believe (we literally booked it before we left to get there) Parking is a bit of a pain mainly because we was visiting from London so don't know the area well but I believe the Arndale shopping centre has a paid parking lot you can use but luckily I found some on stret parking very close by. Definitely worth a visit if you ever get the chance very fun and unique experience 😊

We had a fabulous time at this unusual museum. My 9 year old loved it and the exhibits were all really interesting. Staff were lovely and helpful, especially Charles who looked after us well. It’s rather expensive but for a special outing I think it’s worth it.

A must if you’ve never been to illusion museums! The team there are fantastic. They were really friendly and helpful and explained a lot without us even asking. They would approach us randomly and give us insight on some of the illusions or just make sure we were enjoying ourselves really! The illusions were great fun and worth the price for the experience. In particular Charles (didn’t get his name initially but asked the staff when leaving) was very helpful to us when we were inside. The Afro Caribbean security guard (sorry didn’t get your name) was also a good laugh when we came to get tickets and when we were leaving, top guy!

I have got say so much was had , my son who is 7 loved all of the illusions and very good . Plenty of pictures to be taken . Staff were excellent and I feel it was worth the money . Certainly entertained us all . Would definitely recommend

We visited during the week and it was pretty quiet. Made the photo ops nice and easy and had the chance to explore everything properly. The illusions were great, plenty of variety! Staff were friendly and helpful and offered to take photos. Would highly recommend!

It was amazing! Visited the museum last Wednesday 13/10/24. Such an interesting and unusual museum. All the exposition was interesting but i liked the most a vertigo bridge and mirror house and the room of infinity as well. And i would like to mention that the staff is so friendly and lovely, asking if everything is OK and offer to take pictures. Strongly recommend to visit By the way, there is a for students and retired So do not forget to bring the proof

My first time at the museum of optical illusions was awesome. I went with my two kids aged 8 months and 2.5 years old. My two year old absolutely loved it! The staff were so helpful and kind. They took pictures for us and explained how the illusions worked. Overall awesome experience! The first shop has some cool gadgets and toys as well.

My husband booked me this as a birthday treat and it was such a great way to start the day! Took so many great pictures! The staff were really helpful and took some of the both of us, explained how some of the illustrations worked too. It was a lot of fun great place to visit with friends or the family.

It was great, no other way around it. Totally worth it, my group spent SO much time solving puzzles, it’s a blast, and all the illusions have pointers on where to stand and from where to take pictures so that you get the full, magical effect. Shout out to Amaron for helping us with our pictures and throwing some extra tips our way. Also to Aminat and Gabe for making a good time a great time on the puzzle room!

We had a great time here. You could easily spend hours trying to solve the puzzles. Had a great laugh with the staff taking photos for us. Highly recommend.

Amazing, but be warned that you can't actually buy on the door, even though it says you can. Had to stand outside buying them on a very slow connection! Worth it once you're in though.

An interesting experience which myself and my partner enjoyed. Never been to anything like this but enjoyed it would definitely recommend it to anyone. If you're a blue light card holder then you can get a discount as well.

Great experience for both children and adults alike. Had to repeat different parts of the exhibit for each child’s favourite and this was absolutely encouraged by staff. Staff were i credibly helpful as you walked around. Nice little activity for an hour when in Manchester.

We visited for a little date night and it was so much fun! The puzzles were amazing and kept us entertained for ages trying to figure things out! Will definitely recommend - we even bought a puzzle at the end because we are determined to solve it!

I came across the ad on Instagram and ever since it stuck to my head that i had to come around and I must say I didn't regret it. It was worth my money and travel time.

Loved it here! The illusions were really interactive and fun with lots and lots of photo opportunities. The staff were incredible, super polite and sweet and couldn’t do enough to make sure our whole experience was the best. Our favourites were the infinity room & the puzzles.

This was such a fun and different afternoon out! Loads of stunning illusions to explore and some great photo opportunities! All the stuff we're really welcoming, helpful and enthusiastic which was really refreshing compared to some attractions we have visited. They were also on hand to help take the occasional group photo and explain things. Really good crowd control too, considering it was the opening weekend and the place was busy. Most illusions were free to walk straight up to, but others there was a max, 5 mins wait. The toilets were brand new, so fresh and large cubicle made it easy to assist the children. The free lockers for coats and bags was a nice touch too and mebtbi didn't have to carry my brolly around! We are really happy with our visit and think it was definitely value for money.

Our first time here today. Personally I didn't think it was all that bad. There are a few things I liked and didn't.
Positive: staff was friendly, illusions were great, toilets were very clean compared to others, lockers present to leave your stuff, thought it was great if you going with kids.
On a downside: overpriced, long queues to participate in illusion, people queuing behind you and I felt like I need to hurry up, tho they were very patient and polite, a bit small for what you pay- started feeling claustrophobic after spending 30 minutes, gift shop a bit overpriced.

Can you believe your eyes!?

We visited during the term-time week, so the museum wasn't busy. We were able to take our time wandering around, enjoying and taking photos with the illusions. The tickets to visit are expensive, I recommend buying tickets in advance online and searching Google for any promo codes. Free lockers are provided for your coats and bags. All you need is your camera. As you walk around, there are guides to take group photos for you and show you where to stand to obtain the best illusion. If guides are not close by, there are markers on the floor showing you where to stand/sit. Hold on to the railings when you walk through the vortex tunnel, it's headturning. There is no dining facility or cafe for drinks, but plenty of places to grab a bite nearby. Parking was an issue due to the ongoing roadworks, road closures, and reduced on street parking available.

Very cool experience! It’s a very picture / sensory based which makes creates a unique experience overal. Ideal for younger kids in my opinion.
However if you’re looking for a relaxing time, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend. Since it can be very crowded and it’s a smaller museum.

So much fun for kids - interactive, colorful and inspiring. Our little ones loved the hands-on activities and friendly staff. Great creative spot in the city center! Will definitely return.

Enjoyed it more than I thought I would!!!!
A little pricey (£25 per adult) and it takes around an hour to get around the exhibits, but it is rather fascinating and fun. Kids will enjoy this, and adults too.
Clean, tidy, and well presented.

It was a marvellous visit. Enjoyed. Spent about 45 minutes inside. Con is, it's a bit expensive formthat short.time of fun.

I quite enjoyed the experience, although I fount the entrance fee a bit too expensive. Unfortunately, the museum was full of children, who understandably excited and noisy.

We loved our visit today for my 9 year olds birthday. We love learning new things and the strange illusions. If you’re not into science and illusion it won’t be for you but nice afternoon out for us. I also used my blue light discount and so the tickets were slightly cheaper.

Recommended attraction in Arndale. Many interesting displays and booths. There were mini-queues for most of these which slightly affected the experience, and so a weekday visit may be better. Staff are available to assist throughout and take photos.

We booked tickets in advance, got through quickly. We enjoyed our stay. Nice photo options and fun illusions. It's a bit too pricey for the small get around. If you're not waiting in lines you can easily get through within 30-40mins.
