Museum of Illusions’ Mind-Bending Story Competition

To celebrate World Book Day on 6th March 2025, the Museum of Illusions Manchester is launching a competition for local Manchester schools: Museum of Illusions’ Mind-Bending Story Competition. We’re inviting students to write a short story of max 500 words where they enter a portal and find themselves in a mind-bending new world surrounded by illusions!

The winning entry, selected by local award-winning children’s author Marie Basting, will win their class a free school trip to Manchester’s newest interactive museum filled with mind-bending optical illusions, holograms, and immersive exhibits.

This is a fantastic opportunity for students to unleash their creativity while building storytelling and critical thinking skills. The winning class will enjoy a one-of-a-kind school trip to the Museum of Illusions, where they’ll explore mind-bending exhibits blending science, psychology, and art. Each interactive display is designed to challenge perception, encourage problem-solving, and bring learning to life in a fun and immersive way.

Beyond entertainment, the museum serves as a valuable educational space where students can discover the fascinating science behind optical illusions and visual perception. Plus, it’s fully accessible, ensuring everyone can take part in the experience.
